Perhaps when you hear ‘decks’ or ‘turntables’ mentioned you think of dance music. This is quite normal and not at all wrong. However, there are a plethora of other genres and subgenres that people use DJ equipment for. Dance music alone has numerous subgenres such as:

• Acid house

• Balearic

• Detroit techno

• Scouse house

• Funky house

• Trance

• Deep house

• Electro house

• Happy hardcore

• Minimalist techno

The list goes on, and this is just dance music! Hip Hop is another genre commonly played on DJ equipment and the right gear is very important when it comes to this type of music. For instance, a direct drive turntable is essential as scratching just won’t work on a belt-drive deck. There are DJs out there spinning all sorts of tunes on their turntables, including rock and indie music, drum and bass, dubstep, reggae, pop, disco, grunge, grime, metal, crunk and more. It doesn’t matter what you want to play, as long as you are embracing music then we’re happy.

Check out our DJ equipment and the vinyl on offer on the site.
